Private Residence
St. Louis, MORenaissance Roofing, Inc. was contacted by the homeowner after a major storm caused a tree limb to fall on the house and damaged a large section of the home's roof.
Work included
- Restoration of the natural slate roof
- Carpentry work
- Replacement of the inlaid copper gutters and downspouts
- Replacement of various architectural copper elements
THE CHALLENGE
This residence had extensive storm damage that required a complete roof restoration, which included replacement of all roof components.
The magnificent home has a beautiful blend of natural slate, a complicated inlaid gutter system, several low-sloped areas, and finely crafted collector boxes and ornamental downspouts that add unique character to the structure.
THE RENAISSANCE SOLUTION
We replaced the slate roof areas using natural stones to closely match the original blend of green and purple hues. The inlaid gutter seams had leaked over the years, causing damage to the wood pan & substrate lumber, which had to be rebuilt before the new custom fabricated, 20-ounce copper inlaid gutters were installed.
Our in-house copper studio was able to recreate the ornate collector boxes and unique downspout straps that accentuate the home and provide drainage to the roof system.
THE RESULTS
We replaced the roof on this historic home using traditional methods and materials, leaving behind a shining representation of our craftsmanship.
The exquisite details on this home were a challenge to recreate, and the final result is a roof system that not only looks oustanding, but will protect this home, the homeowner and their possessions from the elements for decades to come.
